Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Maintenance Assistant to join our Estates Team at Northgate Hospital, Morpeth.
Main duties of the job
To assist in the repair, service and inspection of building, mechanical, electrical and their associated systems, in accordance with relevant legislative standards and operational procedures to ensure a safe environment for patients, public and staff.

- Must demonstrate good understanding of health & safety and risk assessments.
Experience

- Previous appropriate work experience in an operational/maintenance support role particularly in a building / engineering environment.
- Experience in the safe use of tools and equipment associated with an Estates department.
- Experience in the operation, service/repair of some of plant and equipment; Mechanical & electrical building services, Boilers (steam & LPHW), Laundry and catering equipment, Sewage plant, Emergency generator plant, Compressors, Portable electrical equipment, Fire extinguisher maintenance
- Experienced in general building repairs such as tiling, brickwork, groundwork etc
Qualifications

- A City and Guilds or appropriate NVQ2/3 qualification gained in an appropriate engineering or building discipline.
- Full UK driving licence.
