MIAA Solutions is advertising the above role on behalf of Rainbow Medical Centre in St Helens
A GPA
will support the smooth running of the practice by performing the more routine
administration and clinical tasks on behalf of the GP freeing up their time to
focus on the patient.
This is a new role being introduced to our surgery and
will evolve over time. There will be full training provided and the candidate
will be allocated a GP mentor throughout the training period. It is envisaged
this will be mainly an administrative role but there may be basic clinical
tasks for which full training will be provided.

Main duties of the job
Overseeing
smooth running of specialist clinics in the practice this includes managing
waiting lists for joint injection/LARC clinics. Liaising with patients and
ensuring appointments are utilised fully.
Assisting
GPs/secretarial staff with referrals, tests and follow up appointments of
patients
Assisting
coding team with clinical diagnoses by liaising with GPs as required
Developing
basic clinical skills to include dipping urine, taking blood pressure, ECGs
Completing
basic (non-opinion) forms and core elements of some forms for the GP to approve
and sign such as insurance forms, mortgage, benefits agency forms etc
Reviewing
summary care records for new patients registering with the practice and
ensuring all important information is entered into record and easily accessible
Ensuring
practice is kept up to date with governance policies by monitoring dates of
expiry and liaising with appropriate staff to update as required
Helping
the GP liaise with outside agencies e.g. social services, social prescribing,
MDT teams
Undertake
any other delegated duties appropriate to the post
About us
Rainbow
Medical Centre is a large training practice in St. Helens. We currently have 7
GP partners and 4 Salaried GPs. We have a practice pharmacist, with support
from 3x further pharmacists via our local primary care network (PCN). We have a
nursing workforce of 10, we are also fortunate to have an array of PCN staff
including a mental health nurse, physiotherapist, social prescriber and
physician associates. We have secretarial and admin support from a large team
of clerical staff.
Our
practice is part of St. Helens South PCN, the largest in St. Helens. Although
this role is employed by the PCN it will be solely based at Rainbow Medical
Centre.
