Vita Health Group and Insight IAPT are delighted to be launching a new clinical partnership, bringing together over 40 years of mental health experience, to support individuals and communities across Nottinghamshire. We are looking for pioneering, skilled clinicians to join us on this exciting journey and play a central role in shaping the delivery of NHS Talking Therapies for anxiety and depression across the region.
As an IAPT partnership, we are looking for Accredited Counsellors who can bring their knowledge, skills and passion for patient care to this dynamic service. Working within a stepped care model, you will deliver short-term, evidence-based interventions to clients presenting with mild to moderate mental health conditions.
As a valued member of our multi-disciplinary team, you will be encouraged to be an autonomous practitioner, whilst operating within a supportive framework which includes regular high-quality supervision and support from your line manager and our clinical lead.
Main duties of the job
As an accredited counsellor, you will use your skills and expertise to deliver counselling to our clients across a range of issues including low mood, depression, and anxiety. Your recovery and outcome rates will reflect your ability to build a successful therapeutic relationship with our clients and go the extra mile to achieve the right outcomes for them.If you would enjoy working in an IAPT service as part of a team that supports you to deliver the best possible outcome for our clients, we would love to hear from you.
About you
We would love to hear from you if you:
- Hold a Diploma or degree in Counselling from a recognised course which would meet the requirements for BACP (or equivalent) accreditation.
- Accredited by at least one of the following bodies: BACP (must be accredited, membership is not sufficient), NCS (must be accredited, membership is not sufficient), UKCP or IPT UK.
- Possess one of the following NICE compliant qualifications: Counselling for Depression, Couple Therapy for Depression or Interpersonal Psychotherapy (must also be registered with IPT UK)
- Experience of working within a primary care mental health service.
- Evidence of working with people who have experienced common mental health problems i.e. anxiety / depression.
- Good record of Continuing Professional Development and willingness to continue this.
- Knowledge of IAPT and stepped care model.

- Accept referrals via agreed protocols within the service.
- Assess clients for suitability for psychological interventions.
- To exercise autonomous professional responsibility for the assessment and
treatment of clients in line with the service.
- Adhere to an agreed activity contract relating to the number of client contacts
offered, and clinical sessions carried out per week in order to minimize waiting
times and ensure treatment delivery remains accessible and convenient.
- Attend multi-disciplinary meetings relating to referrals or clients in treatment,
where appropriate.
- Complete all requirements relating to data collection within the service.
- Keep coherent records of all clinical activity in line with service protocols.
- Work closely with other members of the team ensuring appropriate step-up
and step-down arrangements are in place to maintain a stepped care
approach.
- Work as a team member developing and maintaining effective working
relationships.
- Keep up to date with relevant policies and procedures.
Professional
- Ensure the maintenance of standards of practice according to the employer
and any regulating, professional and accrediting bodies (e.g. BACP), and
keep up to date on new recommendations/ guidelines set by the department

Clinical Excellence).
- Ensure that client confidentially is protected at all times.
- Ensure clear professional objectives are identified, discussed and reviewed
with your manager on a regular basis as part of continuing professional
development (CPD).

objectives.
- It is responsibility of all staff that they do not abuse their official position for
personal gain, to seek advantage of further private business or other interests
