We're looking for a Finance Assistant to join our team!

This is an exciting opportunity in which you will gain experience and make a real impact. This role is pivotal to improving the quality of care and operational efficiencies so requires motivation and passion to deliver excellent service within the Doncaster Primary Care Networks.

Main duties of the job

The purpose of the role is to support the SY Primary Care Workforce and Training Hub (PCWTH) in managing, processing and troubleshooting various financial transactions and invoices and reporting as necessary. The role will work within the Primary Care Doncaster Finance Team and will closely support both the Finance and PCWTH Teams.

You will need to be flexible in your approach to work and experience of · Maths at GCSE grade 5 or above, working towards Accountancy/Business qualification or equivalent experience of business/finance, working in a finance role or having financial element to previous role that is demonstrable, experience of invoicing, using spreadsheet to record financial information,  reporting of financial information and, understanding financial documents

Job description

Job responsibilities

The role will work within the Primary Care Doncaster Finance Team and will closely support both the Finance and PCWTH Teams.

Key Responsibilities:

The key responsibilities of the role are:

Ensuring external funding is claimed and logged using the current processes.

Chasing any late external payments

Liaising with external stakeholders and financial managers across SY

Creating, sending and following up of invoices

Providing reporting of current hub financial position to the training hub director and project leads

Liaising with practice managers around available funding and queries around invoices

Working with the PCD finance team to ensure training hub finances are accurate

Collect and enter data for various financial spreadsheets

Be the first port of call for queries around invoices and payments to practices for training hub work

Attend meetings with PCD and PCWTH to ensure knowledge of the work-streams

Suggest changes or improvements of current systems/processes

Supporting the hub communications agenda and playing an active role in promoting the work of the hub.

Adhere to PCDs financial policies and procedures

Support the PCD Corporate and Finance Teams with general clerical and administration duties as required during times of annual leave, sickness and other absence

Effective filing of meeting papers and commercial documents

Agenda coordination and minute taking of meetings as required

Answer incoming telephone calls, redirecting where appropriate, taking and passing on messages

Delivering excellent customer service at all times

Ensure the timely passage of information and respond to enquiries from staff, agencies and the public in a courteous efficient manner

  • To represent the company with internal and external stakeholders, to communicate and develop relationships in accordance with the companys ethos and values
  • Promote the organisation through collaboration with external agencies, attending such meetings as appropriate
  • Prioritise own workload appropriately, referring any concerns to the relevant manager in a timely manner

Carry out any other duties appropriate to the role as may be delegated
