Would you like to work as a Dietician in general practice ?

We are looking to recruit a Dietician who will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team in a patient-facing role in the Primary Care Networks (PCN). Doncaster has five PCNs; Central, East, North, South and 4Doncaster. The role will be working within a great team . The role involves all aspects of Dietician support .

This role will be based working across General Practices in the North Primary Care Network.

Main duties of the job

Delivery of high quality expert assessment, management and education for patients requiring specialist dietetic and nutrition advice for early intervention of weight management.

You will need to be flexible in your approach to work as the role will be working primarily across the Primary Care Network, within various practices; providing services, including;

  • provide specialist nutrition and diet advice to patients, their carers, and healthcare professionals through treatment, education plans, and prescriptions

    educate patients with diet-related disorders on how they can improve their health and prevent disease by adopting healthier eating and drinking habits

    provide dietary support to patients of all ages (from early-life to end-of-life care) in a variety of settings including nurseries, patient homes, GP surgeries and care homes

    make recommendations to PCN staff regarding changes to medications for the nutritional management of patients, based on interpretation of biochemical, physiological, and dietary requirements

    undertake a range of administrative tasks such as ensuring stock levels are maintained and securely stored, equipment is kept in good working order and updating patient records

About us

Primary Care Doncaster Ltd is developing a wide range of services to support general practice across the Borough and is looking at innovative ways to develop its workforce, due to interest by a significant number of GP practices and Networks within the town.

The salary for the role is fixed at £45,729 per annum for a full time post, (calculated pro-rata for part time hours). Any pay progression would be subject to a formal appraisal process and cannot be guaranteed or confirmed.

ensure delivery of best practice in clinical practice, caseload management, education, research, and audit, to achieve corporate PCN and local population objectives

  • BSc or pre-reg MSc in Dietetics under a training programme approved by the British Dietetic Association (BDA)
  • Evidence of registration with the Health and Care Professionals Council (HCPC)
