Job summary

Primary Care Doncaster (PCD) Limited is developing a wide range of support services to ensure good and effective delivery of its internal services and general practice services across the Borough of Doncaster. PCD provides working at scale opportunities and is driven to respond to the numerous challenges that face general practice in today’s modern world. Firstly, the increase in complex workload due to a growing elderly population and the introduction of new medical technology and the ways in which patients are treated. Secondly, national and local policy changes requiring a collective response from general practice, and finally, population health challenges that can only be fully addressed by general practice working together.

This role will form the Business Intelligence Function within Primary Care Doncaster, with the overarching purpose of guiding and supporting the organisation, our member practices and Primary Care Networks to utilise data to monitor performance with a view to continuous improvement and innovation.

The post holder will, through the selection and application of research methods and analytical tools, interpret various sources of information and intelligence in order to develop and implement a range of products and processes.

Experience

Essential

  • Experience of developing a culture of data driven decision making
  • Previous experience of implementing data intelligence / developing an intelligence function
  • Experience in intelligence / information collection and analysis, including preparation of terms of reference
  • Demonstrate the ability to prepare and present reports from complex data, both qualitative and quantitative, to a range of stakeholders
  • Evidence of forming inferences and utilising a range of intelligence to make recommendations to stakeholders
  • Experience of handling sensitive data in an appropriate manner and in line with regulations

Desirable

  • Experience of NHS policy/guidelines
  • Experience in evaluating performance and challenging managers on service improvement
  • Proven experience of statistical and business intelligence tools e.g. SQL and Advanced Excel or equivalent

Qualifications

  • Relevant qualification at undergraduate degree level or equivalent relevant work experience
  • Skilled in the use of IT packages, systems and/or databases involved in collecting, analysing, interpreting, storing and presenting of data

  • Ability to work effectively with others in problem solving and meeting complex information requirements
  • Demonstrate an ability to communicate confidently at all levels of general practice, including an ability to negotiate and influence
