Job summary

The core purpose of this post is to take responsibility to provide high quality practice nursing care to meet the needs of the patients accessing appointments at Greendale Primary Care Centre; which includes treatment, screening, preventative care, patient education, clinical quality systems maintenance; and the supervision of any less qualified clinical colleagues, while working in partnership with other clinical, management and administrative colleagues to meet Greendale Primary Care Centre developmental goals and vision.

Main duties of the job

Maintain accurate patient records, entering onto the practice system the appropriate agreed codes,using agree standards of data entry, templates, and protocols, completing all documentation,computerised and paper-based, as is required for good patient careProvide basic and higher levels of practice nursing care as needed for patientsProvide care for minor injuries, dressings, and higher-level wound care, liaising directly, where appropriatewith community and secondary care counterparts, escalating to a GP or referring onto communityservices e.g., leg ulcer clinic/tissue viability etcSupport Greendale Primary Medical Centre in achieving quality indicators and targets of the primary careservices contract and any relevant National Service Frameworks.Undertake opportunistic screening when clinically required e.g., blood pressure, BMI, smoking status,alcohol intake etcPerform venepuncture and electrocardiography and suture and staple removalAssessing problems presented opportunistically by patientsTake swabs ensuring samples are taken by the lab

Nottingham City General Practice Alliance (NCGPA) was formed in 2016. We are Nottingham citys first GP Federation, often referred to as NCGPA or the Alliance. Our members consist of 45 NHS GP practices in Nottingham city, who cover a population of over 336,000 patients. We are the lead employer for our PCN based roles such as Clinical Pharmacists, Social Prescribing Link Workers and Health and Wellbeing Coaches.

NCGPA is a Company Limited by shares, with its member practices being equal shareholders. The company is managed by a board of 8 elected representatives from member GP practices and three co-opted positions representing nursing, lay and non-principal GPs. The day to day running of the company is through a Senior Management team comprising the Chair, Secretary and Treasurer along with the Company's Chief Operating Officer and a dedicated office team.
