Job summary
Nottingham City East Primary Care Network (PCN) is a network of seven practices with a list size of around 66,350 patients, with 62% of the population living in areas defined as the most deprived 20% in England.
We are looking for a Safeguarding Care Co-ordinator to work across the Primary Care Network (PCN) to support our Safeguarding Lead GPs and the established PCN Safeguarding Co-ordinator in protecting our most vulnerable patients.
Main duties of the job
· To oversee the workflow of safeguarding reports and documents and ensure they are circulated to appropriate clinicians in line with practice safeguarding policies.
· To summarise and code the documents into the relevant specific templates, highlighting to patients registered GPs anything significant.
· To maintain a register of children on Child Protection Plans, Child in Need plans and those children deemed to cause for concern.
· To ensure the correct coding is added to patient records to aid clinicians in identifying those children and adults who are cause for concern.
· To add alerts to parent records, those who have a child on a safeguarding plan.
· To manage the email account for Nottingham City East PCN which all safeguarding enquiries will be sent to.
· To organise Red Card MDT meetings, take minutes and update the relevant clinical systems.
· To conduct audit/research on those children lost between the ages of 5-13 and reappear as poor attendance.
· Collate material as if an initial enquiry has occurred for GP to consider a Multi-Agency Request form (MARF).
· Any other tasks delegated by practices, suitable to the candidate’s strengths.

NCGPA is a Company Limited by shares, with its member practices being equal shareholders. The company is managed by a board of 8 elected representatives from member GP practices and three co-opted positions representing nursing, lay and non-principal GPs. The day to day running of the company is through a Senior Management team comprising the Chair, Secretary and Treasurer along with the Company’s Chief Operating Officer and a dedicated office team.
