Job summary

**INTERVIEWS TO BE HELD ON Thursday 8th September and Tuesday 13th September** The Pharmacy Technician will work under the supervision of the clinical pharmacist to help GP practices pro-actively keep patients safe, well and out of hospital, as well as helping to reduce the demands on general practice. In this role the pharmacy technician will be supported by a lead senior pharmacy technician who will develop and mentor them.

Main duties of the job

This is an evolving role, but the pharmacy technician’s duties may include: • Helping patients to use their medicines effectively. • Building relationships across primary care and ICB (Integrated Care Boards). • Supporting with transfer of medication - from all aspects e.g., new patients, clinic letters, hospital discharges. • Taking the lead role with linking the CPCS (Community Pharmacist Consultation Service). • Collaborating and working with community pharmacies to improve patient services. • Supporting with compliance medication reviews. • Medication switching using agreed and approved protocols. Nottingham City General Practice Alliance is a GP federation that operates to support, connect, and represent General Practices in Nottingham city. We are the lead employer for Primary Care Network (PCN) staff, employing on behalf of our member PCNs. We are close to employing over 100 ARRS (Additional Role Re-imbursement Scheme) roles.   • Professional registration with General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
  • BTEC/NVQ level 3 or equivalent in pharmaceutical sciences.
  • Evidence of continued professional development (CPD).
  • Experience of working as a qualified, registered pharmacy technician in primary care, community or hospital pharmacy.
  • Completed/willingness to complete the CPPE training pathway for pharmacy technicians.

  • Awareness of systems to support management of patients in a primary care setting.

  • Knowledge and understanding of pharmacy law and ethics and current legislation.
