Job summary
The core
purpose of this post is to take responsibility for the delivery of medical and
clinical services delivered by NCGPA, and development and maintenance of governance,
quality assurance and clinical protocols/policies. The post holder will be responsible for the provision of high
standards of clinical care and excellent service delivery to all patients.
Main duties of the job
As Clinical Lead you are likely to be someone with outstanding written and telephone communication skills as well as the ability to work effectively, independently, and with a dynamic management team. Further details can be found in the attached/downloadable Job Description.

About us
Nottingham City
General Practice Alliance (NCGPA) was formed in 2016. We are Nottingham citys
first GP Federation, often referred to as NCGPA or the Alliance. Our members
consist of 45 NHS GP practices in Nottingham city, who cover a population of
over 336,000 patients.
The
day to day running of the company is through a Senior Management team
comprising the Chair, Secretary and Treasurer along with the Companys Chief

As a federation,
we promote, support and facilitate the collaboration of GPs and their workforce
throughout our city. Examples of our work to date include developing networks
whereby tasks and resources can be shared, empowering frontline practice staff to
become active signposters for their patient communities and launching GP+,

NCGPA also holds
the contract for the management and operation of GP Practices in the city.

currently recruiting two GP Clinical Leads for our Bilborough Medical
Centre, and Grange Farm general practice
services.
The role
involves:
Patient care: Accountable
for clinical standards of patient care, including quality assurance.
Responsible for ensuring appropriate systems & procedures are embedded to
deliver safe, caring effective medical care. Responsible for working with the
appropriate bodies to ensure adherence to professional standards.
Workforce: Responsible
for developing the skills and knowledge of the clinical workforce. Responsible
for overseeing and supporting the development of all clinicians, taking account
of their varied status and professional requirements.
Clinical strategy: Accountable for clinical advice to the NCGPA Board & COO and to
jointly lead clinical strategy within General Practice. The individual will
advise and contribute to future service developments and expanding the business
in line with core values, in line with local commissioning intentions and
national policy.
Corporate leadership: Work with the NCGPA Board & COO, Head of Practice Provision/the
Service Manager and the clinical workforce to develop and embed a distributed
model of clinical leadership and a culture of continuous improvement, in the
best interests of the people we serve.
Caldicott Guardian: The post holder will fulfil the Caldicott Guardian function and work
with the NCGPA Board, COO, Head of Practice Provision, and the Service Manager to
provide expert advice and support in connection with all aspects of clinical
quality, safety, governance, effectiveness and efficiency of services. This will include workforce development,
education and training of the clinical/GP workforce.
