Job summary

The Head Housekeeper role at Moorlands Nursing Home in Lightwater is an excellent opportunity for an experienced individual who takes pride in maintaining high standards of cleanliness and infection prevention control. The successful candidate will lead a team of housekeeping staff to ensure the home is warm, inviting, and safe for the residents.

Main duties of the job

As the Head Housekeeper, you will be responsible for leading a team of housekeeping staff to maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the 33-bed residential and nursing home. You will ensure that all areas of the home are well-maintained, clean, and welcoming for the residents. Your duties will include supervising the housekeeping team, managing the cleaning schedules and routines, and overseeing the procurement of cleaning supplies and equipment. You will also be responsible for implementing and monitoring infection prevention and control measures to keep the home safe and compliant.

  • The ideal candidate for this role will have significant experience as a Head Housekeeper or in a similar supervisory role within a healthcare or hospitality setting. You should have a strong understanding of cleaning techniques, infection prevention and control, and the ability to lead and motivate a team. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential, as you will be liaising with residents, their families, and other healthcare professionals.
