You will be a professional who actively engages and involves your client in their care and support needs. Your role focuses on creating meaningful interactions and professional relationships with your clients, families and other healthcare professionals involved within their care.
Our Community Support Workers play a vital part of supporting our clients to achieve their personal goals such as attending education and gaining independent living skills.
Our Training Academy is amazing! You will be trained specifically in your clients needs to ensure your competency and skills. You will be supported and guided throughout your role by our management team to help your progression in your role.
Main duties of the job
We have vacancies
for DAY TIME & NIGHT TIME working, both PART TIME & FULL TIME roles are
available. As a Community Support Worker you will be working BLOCK HOUR shifts
supporting specific clients on a consistent basis.
Our support visits are from 4
hours up to 12-hour blocks at any one time during the day and night. Our
clients receive one to one or two to one support at all times.
You will be required to work on
a two-week rolling rota where you be expected to work alternate
Saturdays and Sundays. (This is a necessity for the role)
The role involves supporting individuals
with their daily living activities such as:
Attending School, College, their
place of work
Supporting our clients whilst on
holiday
Assisting with their personal
care needs
Nutrition & hydration
requirements (specialised feeding techniques)
Medication administration
Community access undertaking
activities your client enjoys such as
going to the park, bowling,
swimming, arts/crafts, shopping, visiting museums, horse races, meals out- the
possibilities are endless! Literally any activity our clients are interested
in!

Summary of role
To share with
other staff in meeting the personal care and support needs of customers in a
way that respects the dignity of the individual and promotes their
independence. The care and support provided by Care and Support Workers is
expected to include support that would reasonably be given by members of the clients
family and is not to include tasks that would normally be undertaken by a
trained nurse.
Principal responsibilities
To assist clients
who need help getting up and going to bed in the morning and evenings, including
dressing and undressing, washing, bathing and going to the toilet.
To help clients
with their mobility and with any physical disabilities, including incontinence
and use of personal aids and equipment.
To support
clients out in the community such as trips shopping, to the cinema or other day
trips.
To care for clients
who are temporarily sick and need bed nursing and help with feeding etc.
To provide care
and support for clients who may be terminally ill.
To help in the
promotion of mental and physical activities of clients through talking,
outings, reading, writing, hobbies and recreations.
To make and
change beds, light cleaning, emptying commodes and general tidying.
To support
clients within school or educational settings.
To support
clients with tracheostomy care, PEG care and other complex health conditions
where applicable.
To prepare and
serve light meals, clearing away and washing up.
To read and
write reports and be involved in clients reviews and training activities.
To adhere to
all Caremarks policies and procedures at all times.
To report
either to the Case Leader or Care Manager any significant changes in the health
or circumstances of a client.
To encourage
the independence of clients wherever possible.
