We are currently seeking a Care Support Assistant to join our friendly and dedicated team, supporting a child with complex health and social care needs based in Great Eccleston, Preston.
This is a part-time waking night position.
As a Care Support Assistant, you will receive full training to help you thrive in your role and gain confidence in providing quality care. After training is completed, you will receive a competitive rate of pay of £13.91
This job involves 18 hours per week term time and 19 hours per week non-term time (Monday and Wednesday) waking nights and attracts a competitive rate of pay £13.91 (after completion of training).
Main duties of the job
Your Responsibilities as a Care Support Assistant
Supporting our client to meet his needs that arise as a result of Left parietal meningioangiomatosis, Epilepsy/Focal epilepsy, Stroke (TIA), Episodes of pain, Sleep apnea, Autism, Communication difficulties, Registered as visually impaired, Cerebral palsy right side, Global development delay, Social communication difficulties
To complete safety checks on our client's equipment and to record his ventilation and saturation numbers throughout the night
To complete visual safety checks
To oversee his health and well-being
To support with small snacks and drinks when awake, staff need to be mindful of his dysphagia.
To interact with his when he is awake
To meet his personal care needs
To provide moving and handling support
To be successful as a Care Support Assistant, you’ll need:
A caring and empathetic nature
Good communication skills
A genuine desire to support others
Basic IT and record-keeping skills
Preferably 1 year of care experience and experience of working with children
