Job summary

Northern Health Care provides mental health recovery services across many regions within the UK. Our services consist of support living and community outreach services which provide our residents and service users with access to 24-hour support from experienced clinical and support staff.

Our goal is to put people first, and support persons with mental health and learning disability challenges to lead fulfilling and independent lives.

We are currently seeking 1 Clinical Occupational Therapist working in Yorkshire to give these persons the opportunity to lead fulfilling and independent quality lives.

Main duties of the job

You would be responsible for your own caseload and would work collaboratively with the clinical team, to plan and deliver a range of occupational therapy assessments and interventions promoting recovery and well-being for the residents of Northern Healthcare that present with Complex mental health and learning disability needs.

You will also coordinate and lead on the provision of the therapeutic programme, including running both group and individual sessions. You will be working as an integrated member of the multidisciplinary team, under the supervision of the clinical lead occupational therapist, ensuring the occupational needs of the residents are considered and addressed.

  • Being responsible for the assessment of resident occupational functioning and the development, implementation and evaluation of occupational therapy treatment and programmes
  • To manage a defined caseload using evidence-based person-centred principles to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions and maintain records of these interventions.
  • To provide clinical, professional and leadership for junior and support staff within the service.
  • Abide and comply with the College of Occupational Therapy Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct and the College of Occupational Therapy Professional Standards for OT Practice.
  • Develop skills and knowledge through participation in a professional development Planning process.
  • Work within an enhanced supported living environment promoting a recovery-focused service model.
  • To provide support and participate in MAPPA, Discharge, CTR, placement review & best interest meetings.
