Main duties of the job

This is a full-time, remote position with regular travel, offering real variety and impact. As a People Advisor, youll be the trusted partner for employee relations across your designated region or division the go-to expert for line managers and services alike. Youll take ownership of a diverse caseload spanning employee relations and organisational change, providing practical, solutions-focused guidance that helps leaders navigate challenges with confidence.

Job responsibilities

This role is about more than policy, it’s about building strong relationships, enabling great management practice, and ensuring our people processes are fair, legally sound, and aligned with best practice. You’ll play an important part in shaping a positive working environment where teams can thrive and feel supported through change

  • Provide expert advice, guidance and practical support to managers on all employee relations matters, including interpretation of policies, procedures and employment legislation.
  • Proactively manage both short- and long-term sickness cases, supporting managers to take appropriate action and liaising with Occupational Health where needed.
  • Lead on change management activity, including involvement in TUPE processes.
  • Oversee and track complex ER cases to ensure they progress in line with policy, best practice and agreed timescales.
  • Partner with the Regional People Business Partner to identify trends, risks and themes, contributing to regular regional reporting.
  • Design and deliver engaging local workshops on employee relations topics to build manager confidence and capability in a practical, supportive way.
  • Work alongside managers to strengthen their people management skills, helping them feel more confident and equipped when navigating everyday people matters.

What you'll have:

  • CIPD level 5 or equivalent experience (qualification not essential).
  • Good employee relations and employment law knowledge
  • Independent and self-motivated
  • Strong customer focused attitude
  • Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise as appropriate
  • Has a flexible approach and ability to take the initiative
  • Experience of managing high volume case loads
  • Experience of the health and care sector desirable but not essential.
  • Experience of working in an HR Advisory capacity preferably in a multi-location environment.
