We're excited to offer an opportunity for a soon-to-qualify or newly qualified Band 5 level Occupational Therapist to join our team at Ivetsey Bank Hospital from July 2025.
Main duties of the job
Located in Staffordshire, Ivetsey Bank Hospital is a specialist Tier 4 Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) facility. We provide intensive inpatient care to young people with severe, enduring, and complex mental health needs, supporting them through some of the most challenging moments in their lives.
This is an excellent first role for a compassionate and motivated OT looking to start their career in a supportive and dynamic mental health setting. You'll be joining a skilled, friendly multidisciplinary team who are passionate about recovery-focused, person-centred care. We believe in working collaboratively with our young people, their families, and the professionals who support them to create meaningful, individualised care plans grounded in evidence-based practice.

What you'll be working:
Our standard working hours for this role are 37.5 per week, Monday to Friday. However, we understand the importance of a positive work-life balance, and therefore, if you require some flexibility to better suit your personal or professional needs, we encourage you to discuss this with us, and we will do our best to accommodate your preferences where possible.
What you'll be doing:
- Provide Occupational Therapy services to a caseload of young people with severe or complex mental health conditions
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary team colleagues to develop and implement individualised treatment plans.
- Engage with young people and their families to understand their goals and preferences
- Keep up to date with new treatment methods and be actively involved in research projects relating to specialist area
- Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions, focusing on areas such as activities of daily living, sensory integration, and social skills development
- Evaluate effectiveness of service and carry out audits where required
- Be responsible for department training and contribute to training and development of all staff
- Ensure risk management and safety procedures are in place for the OT Department and adhered to
- Keep people safe from harm and protect their human rights
