Job summary
Active Care Groups Care in the Home division continues to go from strength to strength ensuring we provide a safe, reliable and outcome-based care to all clients by our exceptional support workers, clinicians, and management team.
Please note we are not able to offer sponsorship for this role and therefore will not be able to progress any candidates who require a certificate of sponsorship to work in the UK.
Main duties of the job
We are looking to recruit experienced, highly motivated, and proactive *Female Support Workers for a live in package in Worcestershire.
You will have a full clean Driving Licence be able to work on a rolling 2 weeks on 2 weeks off shift pattern. This is a zero contract with regular shifts once assigned to a client enable continuity of care.
You will be required to attend our company training which will includes staying away from home for 5 days, we will cover the cost of travel and accommodation and breakfast will be provided.
*Please note we are recruiting Female Support Workers due to a genuine occupational requirement of the person we support therefore this role is exempt from the Equality Act 2010 Part 1 Schedule 9

Meet our client:
Our client is a lovely gentleman who has a spinal cord injury but still enjoys being as active as possible. He is a dedicated vegetarian who prefers to eat tasty vegetarian meals with his Support Workers and has 2 dogs who he adores but needs support with their care.
When you'll be working:
- Rolling rota 2 weeks on and 2 weeks off
- Living in the clients home 24/7 when on shift
- Zero hour contact with regular shifts as above
What you will be doing:
- Assist the client to exercise choice and control over their own lives as far as they are able in everyday matters as much as possible
- Liaise with and support the family as required
- Assist the client to ensure an adequate level of hygiene is maintained (including washing, dressing and toileting)
- Supporting the client to use local amenities such as shops and leisure facilities and attend community events
- Follow the service user plan as documented for the client
- Maintain accurate and confidential records
- Participate in manual handling procedures as specified for the client
- Maintain professional boundaries with the client and their family members, adhering to direction from the care manager as appropriate

- Previous experience of working with individuals with a spinal injury is desirable but not essential as full training will be given
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Willingness to learn and develop
