We currently have a great opportunity for a Deputy Manager to join our Care Plus team at The Sandford Nursing Home in Church Stretton on a permanent basis. We are looking for a dedicated professional to bring our values to life and ensure our customers receive outstanding services.
Main duties of the job
Our Deputy Manager will be supporting the Home Manager in the daily management and running of the Care Home. The role includes managing, delivering and leading high-quality care as part of the care team using a person-centred approach; Ensuring the individual needs of service users are met, providing opportunities for individuals to use their skills and enhance their quality of life, whilst maintaining their independence and privacy.
You will be supporting your manager in safe running of the workplace, including covering in their absence and ensuring standards of care are maintained. You will ensure the service safely plans staffing levels and complies with legislation and regulatory requirements, undertake care assessments of people needing care and support, as well as working closely with healthcare professionals and others. You will be helping the service to recruit and develop new care workers and nurses, supporting, supervising and performance managing them and undertaking audits designated to them each month and reporting back to the manager any findings and interim actions undertaken to resolve.

- To have or works towards a level 5 qualification in Leadership and Management for Health and Social Care
Skills and experience
Essential
- Ideally to have an understanding/experience of working with residents who have dementia.
- Knowledge and understanding of medicine management
- Familiar with the CQC regulations and assessment framework
- Experience of working with a person-centred approach
- Experience of taking a hands-on approach to solving problems
- Knowledge and understanding of the needs of older people and vulnerable adults in the Care Home setting.
- Good organisational skills
- Competent in using IT packages including Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel etc
- Ability to work effectively under pressure.
- Excellent verbal, written and face to face communication skills.
