Job summary

This role is for a Senior Care Assistant to join Avery Healthcare's award-winning team in Newcastle under Lyme. The successful candidate will support the care team in delivering high-quality, person-centered care to residents, ensuring a safe, caring, and inclusive environment. They will be responsible for monitoring residents' wellbeing, implementing and evaluating care plans, supporting staff development, and serving as a key point of contact for residents, families, and healthcare professionals.

Main duties of the job

As a Senior Care Assistant, you will be responsible for supporting the care team in delivering high standards of personal care to residents. This will include monitoring residents' wellbeing, updating care plans, supporting staff development, and serving as a key point of contact for residents, families, and healthcare professionals. You will need to have an NVQ 3 or equivalent in care for care homes, 2 years' experience in a similar care environment, and the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. You should also have a positive attitude towards supporting and nurturing residents and staff, and be responsive and flexible in covering a range of responsibilities.

Your focus as a Senior Care Assistant will be tosupportand work alongside the Care team to deliver high standards of personal care, providing a safe, caring, innovative, open,supportive, andinclusiveenvironment for residents, visitors and staff.

Other responsibilitieswillinclude:

  • Monitoringthe wellbeing of each resident, being aware of any changeimpactingon care and care plans, ensuring that new needs aremet,and written records are amended to reflect any variation.
  • Beinginvolved in the person-centred care planning process, by implementing,monitoring,and undertaking monthly evaluations.
  • Supporting residents with their medication requirements.
  • Undertaking staff supervisions and supporting staff with their development where required.
  • Actingas a key point for contact with residents, theirrelativesand visitors, as well as health and social care professionals involved in their wellbeing, ensuring that any reasonable requests are actedupon,and concerns or complaints are escalated.
