Job summary

This is a role as a Commis Chef at Avery Healthcare, a leading provider of luxury elderly care homes in the UK. The job is located in Stamford and is a permanent, full-time position paying £12.50 per hour. Main duties of the job

As a Commis Chef, your primary role will be to assist the Chef de Partie in preparing food and performing basic cooking tasks. You will work in different areas of the kitchen, such as vegetables, fish and meat, and sauces, usually on a six-month rotation programme. Other responsibilities will include supporting all chefs to manage and deliver all catering services throughout the home, ensuring resident choice, dignity, confidentiality, and safety are maintained, participating in meetings with residents and Heads of Departments to discuss and agree on catering functions across the home and address residents' special needs or dietary requirements, and preparing nutritional food and beverages to a high standard, as directed by the Chefs, promptly and in accordance with agreed mealtimes.

  • Be adaptive and flexible to cover a range of responsibilities at short notice.
