Job summary

The role of a Maintenance Operative at Avery Healthcare is to ensure the building and grounds are well-maintained, undertaking a variety of routine maintenance tasks, checks to services, and applying basic fixes to equipment and systems. Main duties of the job

As a Maintenance Operative, your focus will be to ensure the building and grounds are well-maintained, undertaking a variety of routine maintenance tasks, checks to services, and applying basic fixes to equipment and systems while ensuring facilities are fully functional. Other responsibilities include supporting new residents to arrange their room, ensuring routine re-decoration is undertaken, advising on supply and quality of items, and providing out-of-hours emergency service.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Your focus asaMaintenance Operativewillbetoensurethe building and grounds are wellmaintained, undertaking a variety of routine maintenance tasks, checks to services applying basic fixes to equipment and systemswhilstensuringfacilities are fully functional.

Other responsibilities will include:

  • Carryingout all general maintenance tasks and basic repairs includingall electrical, plumbing joinery and building tasks both inside and outside the Home.
  • Supporting new residents to arrange their room as they wish.
  • Ensuringroutine re-decoration is undertaken asrequiredtomaintainthe standards in thehome.
  • Advisingon the supply and quality of items used to carry out tasks, ensuring thetimelyandappropriate orderingof replacement goods.
  • Providing out of hours emergency service, participating in the on-call rota.

  • Have a minimum of one years experience in a general maintenance or handy person role and/or hold a professional qualification in a trade.

  • Be able to be adaptive and flexible to cover a range of responsibilities at short notice.
