Job responsibilities
To be accountable
for the delivery of The Marbrook Centres management approach and ethos, and to
ensure that the neurological rehabilitation/long stay services are exemplary in
their delivery of safe and effective care, and are well led at all times.
As this is primarily a
clinical/care leadership role, this post holder will have day to day contact
and involvement with residents, their families and visiting professionals. This role is considered to be a high profile
front of house role.
Specific
Responsibilities:
To take primary responsibility for managing and overseeing the daily
operation of the Marbrook neurological rehabilitation/long stay services,
whilst sharing responsibility with the senior team to deliver Marbrooks
overall objectives
To have clinical overview and take the clinical lead (with General
Manager support when required), and including as a supportive role for our
dementia service
To undertake day to day contact and involvement with residents, their
families and visiting professionals
To act as and promote the positive face and public representation of
Marbrook, in a manner conducive with the level of management and the
responsibilities that this role carries
To role model best practice, professional and positive reinforcement to
all staff at all times
To ensure that the care provided offers our clients a high standard of
specialised, person centred care
To ensure that all residents are treated with dignity and respect and
that their independence, choice and control is actively promoted by the service
To actively promote Marbrooks values and care ethos within the staff
team and organisation environment
To actively and positively line manage/develop/train/mentor/coach the Eden/Bray
teams, and ensure that all staff are well supervised at all times
To correctly implement organisational, clinical, social and legislative
policies and requirements, procedures, systems and processes to underpin and
support all areas of responsibility
To ensure the safety and wellbeing of residents at all times
To ensure that good quality, relevant and substantial records/documentation/notes
that satisfy CQC, management and resident/families requirements are kept at all
times
To ensure that all stock is ordered, controlled and safely stored at all
times
To ensure that all medications are administered, ordered and stored
safely and correctly at all times, including controlled drugs; and to have
oversight of these items at all times.
To ensure all care plans and risk assessments are reviewed at agreed and
suitable intervals
To lead on the care and support review meetings programme
To carry out pre-admission assessments
To support the dementia services in the absence of the designated
service manager
To participate in the manager on-call rota
To assist in the recruitment of, and to maintain a competent staff team,
including supporting completion of the Care Certificate and all e-learning in
line with the Marbrook Learning & Development and Probation policies and
procedures
To work with the Rota Coordinator to ensure the rota is effective and adequately
planned to deliver safe ratios in line with our safer staffing procedures
To manage and deliver all required Kronos processes including annual
leave, timesheet management and submission for payroll processing
To undertake and deliver line management duties with HR support, which
may include probation management, investigations, performance management,
absence management and disciplinary processes
To attend and contribute constructively to required management meetings
To facilitate regular team meetings which include required set agenda
items and that are responsive to the needs of the services
To encourage an open and honest culture within the organisation; and to
support members of the team to make decisions and contribute to positive
changes within the service
To act as advisor on complex long stay/neurological care for the organisation
General
Responsibilities:
To keep accurate
and clear documentation in line with sector specific and legal requirements.
To participate in
audits as required.
To keep abreast of
new developments in the profession, and to bring innovation and creative input
to the role, for consideration and discussion with line manager.
To attend all
mandatory and developmental training courses relevant to the post and as agreed
with the line manager.
To work in
accordance with all relevant legislation e.g. CQC standards, Mental Capacity
Act, Deprivation of Liberty, Health & Safety at Work etc, and in line with
The Marbrook Centres policies and procedures at all times, contributing (if
and when appropriate) to the revision of these documents.
To take an active
role in own personal and professional development and identify any development
needs with the support of your line manager
To act in line
with Health and Safety at Work legislation and requirements and in line with
The Marbrook Centres approach to Health and Safety at all times.
To act in line
with the Care Standards Act 2000 and Safeguarding of Vulnerable Adults (SoVA)
at all times.
To adhere to all
aspects of security and ensure the safety and wellbeing of residents, staff and
visitors at all times.

At all times to:

other duties from time to time, in order to maintain and enhance the service
provision and as this role develops
