Dementia Support Worker

As a Dementia Support Worker, you will have responsibility for the delivery of exceptional care to a designated group of people living with dementia. The Dementia Support Worker will ensure that people are treated with respect and dignity, your approach is empathetic, compassionate, and focused on ensuring their life is the best it can be, promoting the strengths and abilities of each person.
In specially designed areas, you will engage with individuals, ensuring you understand their needs, encourage, assist, and support people to participate in appropriate leisure activities and activities of daily living, normalising life as much as possible with joy and happiness.
This role does involve aspects of personal care and you may support individuals who show signs of being distressed. With support from the team, you will receive tailor made dementia training to enhance your skills and the lives of people living with dementia.
Main duties of the job
To assist with delivery of individual peoples care and support plan, working as an integral part of the caring team, to deliver the highest standards of individualised care to people who are living with a complex dementia, adopting a holistic approach which encompasses the individual needs of both the person and their families.

We are looking for people who have a genuine drive to make each moment of people's lives joyful, purposeful and meaningful. Of course, we know there will be times when people will be experiencing anguish, fear, upset and anger, and as a member of our team you may find that difficult. We will provide you with exceptional in depth training in all areas of Dementia Care and support you to understand why the person is distressed and what we can do to help them.
