Job summary

This is a Bank Kitchen Assistant role at Agincare Homes Holdings in Southwark, where you will support the chef in creating healthy and balanced meals for the residents, maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen, and work as part of a team to provide excellent service to the residents.

Main duties of the job

As a Bank Kitchen Assistant, you will be responsible for supporting the chef in creating healthy and balanced meals and snacks, ensuring a good understanding of various dietary requirements and allergens. You will also be responsible for maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen, particularly in line with COSHH regulations and health and safety protocols. You will work as a team player, but also have the ability to work independently when needed. Additionally, you will be required to offer support, communication, and engagement to the residents.

What is required from you?

  • A minimum of 12 months on your right to work in the UK
  • Previous experience in a kitchen setting is essential
  • As this is a Bank role you must have the flexibility to work as and when required and this can also include weekend shifts

A day in the life of a Kitchen Assistant

  • Support the chef to create healthy/balanced meals and snacks, and ensuring a good understanding of various dietary requirements and allergens
  • Ensure a high standard of cleanliness is maintained in the kitchen area, with good levels of hygiene particularly in line with COSHH regulations and health and safety protocols.
  • Work as a team player, but have the ability to lone work when needed, effectively managing your time.
  • Offer support, communication and engagement to the residents.

About You

You don't have to have worked in care before, a previous role in a different catering environment is great for someone willing to learn. We'd like you to have some prior knowledge of food safety and COSHH. You will be a caring, self-motivated and enthusiastic individual who is able to show empathy to the needs of others.
