Job summary
This is an exciting opportunity for a full time Activities Coordinator to join an established, dynamic and effective Psychology & Therapies Team at Baldock Manor Hospital in Baldock, Hertfordshire. The hospital offers a comprehensive and person-centred range of treatments within our Female PICU and Older Age acute wards for women and men with mental illness, personality disorders, and sometimes, complex physical health needs.
Main duties of the job
In this position youll be at the centre of our therapy team, delivering our exceptional, evidence-based rehabilitation programme.
Supporting our Senior Occupational Therapist, you will deliver therapeutic interventions and a host of activities in group and individual formats.

Our Psychiatric Intensive Care Units (PICU), known as the Radley and Oakley wards, provide standout care and support for women experiencing an acutely disturbed phase of a severe mental disorder requiring rapid assessment and stabilisation. This is done through active engagement and treatment, meaning the approach is person-centred, involving the patient in decision-making and considering an individuals unique goals and life circumstances.

Though youll be assisting our Senior Therapist, you will have many responsibilities of your own, such as, but not limited to:
- Building one-to-one rapport with patients to encourage participation and empower recovery.
- Sourcing and organising resources necessary to delivery therapeutic activities.
- Complete one-to-one therapy sessions, promoting meaningful occupation and person-centred care.
- Develop your own knowledge of local resources and services offered in the community, to assist in facilitating community integration.
Key Duties
- Completing interest checklists with new patients on admission and uploading onto our management software 'Nourish'.
- Facilitating ward-based group activities encouraging engagement and monitoring interactions between patients.
- Be enthusiastic and adaptable to cater for individual needs.
- Record keeping on Nourish and Microsoft excel.
- Reporting to OT with any concerns, issues or recommended changes
