Hours: Full time. 12.5 hours per shift (day shifts are 8 am to 8.30 pm and night shifts are 8 pm to 8.30 am, with breaks)
Location: Baldock Manor Hospital, Hertfordshire SG7
Salary: £11.95 per hour (depending on experience) plus enhanced overtime and weekend pay
Main duties of the job
- To work as a support worker (sometimes known as a care assistant) for our patients, with the support of senior staff.
- To undertake aspects of care with or without direct supervision, including hosting recreational and activity groups, carrying out personal care, observations and escorting duties, such as general hospital visits.

Baldock Manor Hospital is our 36-bed mental health hospital based in Baldock, offering a range of specialist services for both men and women. At our hospital we have a female PICU and two high-dependency units, one for older men and one for older ladies.

- Qualified to NVQ level 2 in Health and Social Care

- Mental Health experience (not essential) and an understanding of how mental health issues can affect people.

- IT Skills - must be able to document/report patient records and incidents accurately on mobile/held devices and computers.
- An ability to take direction and to follow detailed policies and protocols
- Excellent communication skills to engage well with the patients
- Skills such as time management, flexibility, adaptability to change, ability to work as part of a team and able to lead others in delivering specific care interventions.
