Job summary

This post is located within the Medicines Governance (MG) team, which sits in the Health Equity and Clinical Governance Directorate, in the Health Protection Workforce, Infection Prevention and Control, Medicines Governance, Safeguarding (HIMS).

The post requires significant organisational skills as well as the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff. Although work will be guided, the postholder will be expected to plan and prioritise their own work to ensure smooth running of multiple projects whilst also being comfortable to operate within an evolving portfolio.

The role will include ensuring projects are planned, managed and delivered effectively, supporting the delivery of milestones. The postholder will develop and manage systems and processes to guarantee oversight, monitoring and delivery of programme targets.

Main duties of the job

  • Project Management and Support -Assist and work closely with other staff members working on the relevant programmes, providing information to support planning and managing elements of projects as directed by the relevant lead or Programme Manager. Maintain project plans, supporting the provision of management information and participating in working groups.
  • Business Administration Support -Provide appropriate support to senior colleagues to assist in the articulation and delivery of agreed objectives and targets via an efficient, high quality, confidential and timely service
  • Stakeholder Engagement and Communications -Work collaboratively across the HIMS division, directorate and wider UKHSA functions and external partners. Duties may include the scheduling, organisation, execution and recording of key stakeholder forums and meetings, either face-to-face or remotely.
  • Quality Improvement -Suggest changes to and implement policies and procedures in own work area. Work within the scope of the programme budget and the financial administrative systems and protocols within the Directorate and organisation.
  • Governance-Provide key project reports and support effective governance and decision making, reporting to the Lead Pharmacist when needed.
