This role will be supporting the organisation through the provision of public health guidance. You will be working in a team of Consultants and Scientists in UKHSA's Guidance Team which reports to the Deputy Director for Public Health and Clinical Response (PHCR).
This team supports subject matter experts in the production of clear, evidence-based, actionable guidance.
Main duties of the job
- Supporting the development and updating of public health guidance for the public, clinical and public health professionals in an appropriate time frame
- Liaising with teams and upskilling teams at all levels across the organisation to ensure consistency across all published UKHSA guidance in line with the Quality Standards for Guidance Development
- Responding to enquiries from key internal and external stakeholder, relating to guidance which may include complex queries from Principal Scientists as well as Heads of Departments, Consultants, and lead contacts in OGD
- Supporting guidance publishing requirements of other subject matter teams across UKHSA. This will involve orientating teams to the quality standards for guidance development, providing advice on guidance structure and content, acting as a key contact point for any guidance related queries and facilitating involvement of Behavioural Science and Insights and Communications colleagues
- Leading the publishing of guidance on gov.uk through Whitehall publisher as a Devolved Author (training will be provided, if required)
- Supporting the guidance team to develop an emergency operating model and to stand up and manage an emergency response guidance function during public health incidents
