Job summary
This post is positioned in the Primary Care and Infections Unit (PCIU) within the Healthcare Associated Infection, Fungal, Antimicrobial Resistance, Antimicrobial Utilisation & Sepsis Division. The PCIU, based in Gloucester, aims to prevent and improve the management of common infections through research, guidance, intervention development and education of health care professionals, the general public and young people. The Unit runs two distinct programmes of work, the international e-Bug (www.e-bug.eu) schools and community programme and the TARGET antibiotics programme.

UKHSA, Twyver House, Gloucester GL1 1DQ/Hybrid working (1-2 days per week in the office).

Main duties of the job
As a project manager in the Primary Care and Interventions Unit (PCIU), you will lead on a variety of projects to promote behaviour change to prevent infections and use antimicrobials appropriately. You will play a key role in the unit's work to respond to the Government's National Action Plan on Antimicrobial Resistance (2019-2024) and its 20 year vision to tackle this global health threat.
We are looking for a highly motivated individual who will be able to play a key role in an exciting time for the unit. You will drive forward projects to deliver high quality outputs, with strong attention to detail. You will be used to managing multiple projects with competing deadlines and have demonstrable experience in linking project design and delivery to broader strategic outcomes.

As the Project Manager main responsibilities will include:
The job holder will be required to carry out the following responsibilities, activities and duties:
- Undertake specialist and complex collection and analyses of quantitative, qualitative and website usage datasets which will require selection of the best option from a range of possible solutions;
- Analyse and evaluate quantitative and qualitative data and research evidence from a range of sources to make recommendations and inform decision making which may have long term impacts;
- Develop and utilise information to underpin public health action across disciplines and organisations, and lead collation and interpretation of relevant data to develop the most appropriate analyses from a range of sources;
- Have responsibility for the development and productivity of one or more information systems in the Unit, and spanning departments and organisations when necessary, relating to work-areas;
- Receive, interpret, provide and advise on highly complex epidemiological and statistical information about the health of populations to the NHS, DHSC and others, and challenge or respond to differing opinions;
- Manage a team of staff including their day-to-day management;
- Contribute to the formulation of department budgets and financial initiatives;
- Plan outreach programmes to increase implementation of the e-Bug website
- Provide coordination of and participate in relevant internal and external working groups and provide project advice, expertise and support where requested
- Provide regular reporting on the targeting of resources and monitoring their implementation to achieve a value for money
