We are a trusted source of advice to government and to the public, focusing on reducing inequalities in the way different communities experience and are impacted by infectious disease, environmental hazards, and other threats to health.
We are looking for a Senior Technical Officer (SEO) to join the Global Health Advisory, Science and Partnerships (GHASP) Team within UKHSA's Global Operations Directorate.
The successful candidate will be expected to primarily apply their technical experience to support and develop the One Health workstream of the Global Health Security function of GHASP. There will be opportunities to work across the varied GHASP functions and workstreams to develop skills and technical knowledge in global health activities while ensuring the wider team meets its remit, and responsibilities. The post holder will also support wider delivery of UKHSA's Global Health Strategy.

The job holder will be required to carry out the following responsibilities, activities and duties:
- Developing and managing GHASP projects, programmes and workstream activities with a UKHSA, national or global reach.
- Working collaboratively with relevant multidisciplinary technical experts from within UKHSA, the UK and globally, delivering to key milestones in UKHSA and global priority areas.
- Provide programme support to senior meetings, including the WHO Global Health Security Collaborating Centre, Global Health Security Agenda and other high level Global meetings chaired by GHASP and Global Operations senior leaders.
- Liaise across the organisation, as well as coordinate, and advocate for UKHSA technical expertise globally.
- Facilitate the GHASP team in maintaining, managing, and delivering a robust and impactful programme of work.
- Support preparation and delivery of oral and written reports, technical resources, research, tools, and presentations for internal, external, and international audiences.
- Support the delivery of time-limited projects, working across the Health Protection and Global Operation Group to enhance the delivery of GHASP objectives.
