This is an exciting opportunity to join the largest Virology departments in England. The Virology department forms part of The Manchester Medical Microbiology Partnership (MMMP), which is a collaboration between Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust (MFT) and UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA). The laboratory therefore provides both a clinical Virology service and a public health Virology service to the North-West of England and beyond.
The main responsibilities of this role are to plan and manage the delivery of all pathology IT projects to support the collaboration between MMMP and key partners and stakeholders.
This will involve facilitating and monitoring progress of projects within and across Manchester UKHSA site(s) resolving any project issues and supporting the effective delivery of solutions.
The post holder will coordinate project delivery, including linking in with other initiatives as and when appropriate. They will support and manage Manchester UKHSA pathology IT and project staff (direct and/or indirect reports) to ensure successful project
Main duties of the job
The main duties of this role are:
To facilitate in the defining of the project scope, goals and deliverables and plan and schedule project timelines; lead on planning and implementation of identified projects; this will involve working closely with budget holders, suppliers and key stakeholders.
The post holder will hold regular meetings with project teams, internal and external stakeholders; and work closely with Pathology IT and UKHSA to ensure project targets and deadlines are met. This role also requires the post holder to be responsible for the implementation, installation, management and maintenance of MMMP IM&T systems at MFT, key partners and all stakeholders
The post holder will also be responsible for ensuring the development and life cycling of existing hardware and software.
The post holder will work fully with the laboratory departments, Trust and Directorate IT Team and manage the local MMMP IT team.
