Job summary
The Commission on Human Medicines (CHM) is looking to appoint one Lay Member to the Neurology Pain and Psychiatry Expert Advisory Group (NPP EAG). The NPP EAG is a sub-committee of the CHM and advises on the quality of medicines for human use when a marketing authorisation has been granted or applied for. The Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) enhance and improve the health of millions of people every day through the effective regulation of medicines and medical devices, underpinned by science and research.
Main duties of the job
Lay Member Post
The main role of the lay member is to ensure that the perspective of patients, carers and the general public are represented and considered in all aspects of the committees work. Our lay members come from a variety of different backgrounds and generally will not be an expert in a field of relevance to the EAG in which they are a member.
The Member must be able to demonstrate the qualities, skills and experience to meet all the essential criteria for appointment.
