Job summary

An exciting and rewarding role has arisen for a dynamic senior Nurse/ AHP to join the Surgical Care Group as a Surgical flow co-ordinator. This role is key to the delivery of theatre utilisation and is a great opportunity to make a difference to patient pathways. You will be responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient running of our theatres, providing a link between admin teams, theatres, admissions, ICU, site management and the senior management team daily. You will be responsible for co-ordinating all Surgical elective TCI's, identifying the golden patient, allocating beds, managing flow and supporting with discharges within our surgical wards.

You will have excellent communication skills, be a problem solver and work across multidisciplinary teams as an advocate for the patients. The role is demanding and requires someone who can remain calm under pressure, work flexibly and can facilitate solutions to the daily challenges around elective admissions. Previous experience in theatres, surgical flow and managing pathways would be beneficial.

Full travelling expenses are paid from a UK port of entry, with a generous relocation package available and the appointee may take advantage of Jersey taxation policies. Under Jersey Law, applicants must possess FULL registration with the NMC.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will demonstrate a thorough knowledge of the guidelines of the NMC Code (2015) and apply these to maintain trust and credibility with patients, carers and colleagues.

The post holder will make a significant contribution to a specialty service through developing effective clinical leadership skills.

The post holder will keep fully up to date in developments within own professional discipline and will share clinical knowledge/experience in order to enhance nursing./midwifery care.

About us
