Clinical Nurse Specialist

Job summary

The job purpose is to focus on conducting diagnostic assessments, providing expert advice, and signposting to a range of non-medical interventions for service users. The CNS will also be responsible for participating in non-medical prescribing of medication/treatments to support service users in managing symptoms and improving quality.

The post holder will act as a lead to provide expert advice, guidance and education to all levels of the multi-disciplinary team and partner agencies demonstrating a high degree of expertise, decision making and autonomy.

Main duties of the job

Work within the team as an autonomous practitioner to conduct comprehensive assessments of Adults referred for ADHD or Autism spectrum disorder..

Provide clinical advice and be the lead specialist to support other professional clinicians clients and their families to ensure care is client centred, safe and mitigates risk.

Authority to make clinical decisions, prioritise triage referrals and direct client care in the speciality area to ensure continuity of care.

Collaborate with the multi-disciplinary team the ongoing sign posting/care based on assessment findings to clients with complex needs and specific individual risks to ensure a seamless client journey across services.
