As a Consultant Pharmacist Mental Health, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering innovative pharmaceutical care across the island. Main duties of the job

This is a unique opportunity to lead mental health pharmacy services on the island of Jersey. As the consultant pharmacist in this specialty, you will provide strategic direction, ensuring the effective, safe, and innovative use of medicines to benefit our community. Working collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams, you will influence prescribing practices, lead service development, and represent Jersey at local, national, and international levels. You will receive support with Consultant Pharmacist Credentialling.

  • Registered Pharmacist with the General Pharmaceutical Council
  • Post-graduate MSc or Diploma in Mental Health Therapeutics or equivalent.
  • Expert theoretical and practical knowledge of mental health clinical pharmacy and therapeutic use of medicines.
  • Specialist knowledge of common disease states, therapeutic regimes, and medicines governance, particularly in mental health.
  • Up-to-date understanding of national guidelines, legislation, and best practices in pharmacy.

Desirable

  • Qualification as a Pharmacist Prescriber (highly desirable)
  • Credentialled member of the College of Mental Health Pharmacy or equivalent with the Royal Pharmaceutical Society (highly desirable)
  • Experience in research and evaluation, through publication in peer-reviewed journals (highly desirable)
  • Expert in delivering education and training frameworks and strategies across multiple settings nationally and internationally for both healthcare professionals, patients and carers (highly desirable)
