There is a Locum Policy
in force, which in essence, encourages cover within the Department without
employment of locums. Extra duties are
financially rewarded from a locum pot.
The equation is somewhat convoluted and will allow, if necessary,
employment of a locum from outside for a limited time during the year but to
the detriment of the locum fund used to pay for internal cover. Applicants should acquaint themselves with
this policy by requesting the policy document from the HR Department.
