Job summary
The Island of Jersey is seeking a third consultant gastroenterologist. We are looking to appoint a dynamic-forward thinking consultant with a keen interest in service development. The candidate will ideally have a specialist interest in Hepatology and will develop this future service provision, other specialist interests will also be considered.
The job plan includes sessional activity within outpatients and endoscopy sessions, the candidate will participate on the GI Bleed on-call rota.
The position comprises 10 PAs. There are ample opportunities for private practice.
Main duties of the job
The successful applicant will join a team of two Consultant Gastroenterologists to provide a comprehensive service in Gastroenterology and develop the hepatology service.
The successful candidate will have broad experience of inpatient and outpatient gastroenterology and hepatology, fully competent in diagnostic and therapeutic upper and lower gastrointestinal endoscopy, including management of GI bleeding.
The applicant will undertake inpatient specialist reviews where requested and take part in GI-Bleed on-call rota
