Job summary

The post holder will be part of the Psychological Assessment and Therapy service/CMHT. They will be supporting junior members of the teams and providing high intensity interventions such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), EMDR, Cognitive and Analytical Therapy (CAT) to clients who have a variety of psychological difficulties of severe complexity including co-morbid and complex trauma presentations, in order to provide evidence based treatment for a wide range of psychological conditions and to improve mental health in Jersey for Islanders over the age of 18 and CAMHS clients aged 17 and transitioning over to adult services.

Main duties of the job

  • The postholder will have to comply with all relevant States Laws, such as the Health and Safety at Work (Jersey) Law 1989 and any other associated legislation, Standing Orders, Financial Directions, and other relevant Codes of Practice, in respect of managing the key project deliverables of programmes and costs through the active management of procurement, approval, financial and administrative procedures.

  • To work in accordance with the Data Protection (Jersey) Law;
  • This role is politically restricted. The jobholder is not permitted to undertake political activity involving standing for election to the States or as a Parish Constable, or publicly supporting someone who is standing for election or playing a public part in any political manner.

Qualifications

Essential

  • British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP) Level 2 accredited postgraduate diploma in cognitive behavioural therapy, which has a curriculum based on guidance by the national IAPT programme And/or professional qualification in core mental health eligible for registration with HCPC.
  • Post graduate qualification training in a therapy which may be CBT or another evidence based therapy.
  • Additional advanced training in CBT and/or other modalities eg: DBT, ACT, EMDR, CAT, IPT or other relevant therapeutic interventions including supervision.
  • Receiving Clinical supervision experience in the above

  • Significant experience of working with adults who have mental health issues, Significant experience of working as a psychological therapy practitioner within a recognised competency framework.
  • Experience of providing evidence based psychological therapies for at least five years post qualification. Experience of providing /receiving clinical supervision.
  • Experience in assessing and formulating complex clinical problems and presentations.
  • Experience in networking and offering expert psychological opinion to other community agencies/services.
  • Experience of delivering disorder specific psychological interventions and flexibly adapting treatment to meet individual client needs. Ability to manage and work with more complex and comorbid psychological presentations.
