Job summary
To oversee and develop psychological provision to adults across Jersey who are in or who have
been in contact with forensic services including La Moye prison and Jersey probation services.
To provide a systematic high quality psychology service to the designated services, working
collaboratively with others to promote the psychological well-being and best interests of adults and
the effectiveness of the service in achieving its primary tasks.
To provide advice, information and training to staff, other members of the multi-disciplinary
support/ clinical team, commissioners and other agencies regarding complex issues relevant to
mental health conditions and forensic issues.
In line with the seniority of the post the holder may be required to undertake delegated line
management of others within the Professional and Clinical Multi-disciplinary Teams.
To provide leadership and strategic management within multi-professional teams, proposing and
implementing policy and service development changes for the specialist service and act as a highly
specialist resource to the wider professional community across Jersey
Main duties of the job
To provide highly developed specialist psychological assessments of clients based upon
the appropriate use, interpretation and integration of complex data from a variety of sources
including psychological and neuropsychological tests, self-report measures, rating scales
direct and indirect structured observations and semi-structured interviews with clients,
family members and others
To formulate plans for the formal psychological treatment and/or management of a clients
mental and/or health problems based upon an appropriate conceptual framework of the

To be responsible for implementing a range of highly specialist psychological interventions
for individuals, carers, families and groups, within and across teams employed individually
and in synthesis, adjusting and refining psychological formulations drawing upon different
explanatory models and maintaining a number of provisional hypotheses.

account both theoretical and therapeutic models and highly complex factors concerning
