Job summary

Join Integrated Mental Health Services as a Principal Clinical Psychologist. Within this brand new role you will work in a dual function across both Older Persons Mental Health Services and Manannan Court Inpatient Services to provide specialist assessments and therapies for those facing complex mental health challenges.

  • Be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) as a Practitioner
  • Psychologist-Clinical or Counselling Psychologist
  • Have significant experience of working with a wide variety of client groups and
  • presenting problems that reflect the full range of clinical severity.
  • Have a high level knowledge of the theory and practice of at least two specialised
  • psychological therapies including the theory and practice of specialised psychological
  • therapies in specific difficult to treat groups (e.g. dual diagnosis, personality disorders etc)
  • Have significant clinical risk assessment and management knowledge and skills,
  • including a clear understanding of clinical governance.
  • Have skills commensurate with doctoral level training in psychological formulation and
  • in the implementation of highly specialist psychological therapies, interventions and
  • management techniques that are appropriate for use with complex presenting problems
  • Doctoral level knowledge or equivalent of research methodology, research design and
  • data analysis
  • Have skills in providing consultation and advice from a psychological perspective to
  • members of other professional and non -professional groups and have experience of
  • providing teaching, training and supervision.
  • Have the ability to interact effectively with staff from all disciplines and to build and
  • sustain relationships with people with mental health problems and associated disabilities.
  • Be adaptable and able to work flexibly when required, independently, reliably,
  • consistently and with initiative and professionalism when faced by challenging behaviour.
  • Have good IT skills.
  • Be willing and able to travel between sites within the service as required.
