Job summary

This is an exciting opportunity to join a Social Work service that provides assessment, support and interventions for children, young people and their families. We offer training and development opportunities alongside flexible working and manageable caseloads.

Main duties of the job

This post will involve the successful applicant in the care management of children and young people who are looked after, subject to a Child Protection Plan, subject to statutory orders and young people assessed as being in need of long term support. The post will require involvement in the delivery of therapeutic services where appropriate.

About the role

The Children & Families Division is dedicated to safeguarding and providing the best opportunities for the children of our Island. We are seeking a committed professional to join our Care Management team as a Social Worker, ensuring care and support for children in need, those under Child Protection Plans, and those requiring long-term support. Your role will involve care management and delivering therapeutic services, grounded in our core values of Respect, Caring, Listening, Professionalism, Fairness, and Curiosity.  A competitive salary that increases each 12 months until you reach the salary maximum.

A relocation package of up to £7,000 based on receipts is available for this role. Housing Assistance is also available where the Department will pay the difference between your current mortgage/rent bill, and that of your new accommodation on the Isle of Man, up to a maximum of £250 per month.  Annual leave starting from 21 days, a Privilege Day and 10 Bank Holidays; your annual leave will increase after your first year and again after your third year.

 A flexi-time scheme where you can accrue additional time worked to take as leave.
