Consultant in Oncoplastic Breast Surgery

Job summary

We are seeking an Oncoplastic Breast Surgeon to advance our portfolio of procedures that can be carried out within our Breast Surgery service. You will undertake outpatient clinics and elective surgery in breast surgery as well as play a leading role with the weekly Breast Multidisciplinary Team meeting, which is supported by a large MDT on-island as well as remote support from off-island providers such as Clatterbridge Cancer Centre for oncological services.

Main duties of the job

You will have the enthusiasm to clinically lead the Breast Surgical Service and work alongside the existing surgeons and the wider clinical team to ensure the smooth delivery of enhanced services capable of meeting all cancer waiting time standards and delivering safe, effective and excellent care. All Breast Services are located within the purpose built Manx Breast Unit which opened in 2016 and sees both screening and imaging services co-located in the same footprint, which enjoys state of the art mammography and ultrasound equipment as well as well-equipped treatment and consulting rooms, quiet rooms and a seminar room. All surgical, specialist nursing, mammography, radiology, oncology, outpatient and administrative staff work closely to deliver patient-centred care throughout the diagnostic and treatment pathway and strive deliver good outcomes to all patients accessing the service.
