Main duties of the job
Nobles Hospital is the Islands only District General Hospital and is situated on the outskirts of Douglas, the capital of the Isle of Man. The Orthopaedic service offers a range of general orthopaedics to cater to the needs of the Isle of Man population including lower limb arthroplasty, spinal surgery, soft tissue knee surgery, foot and ankle surgery, hand and elbow surgery. There are two mixed sex orthopaedic wards comprising of 31 beds in total. Ward 11 is dedicated to trauma and Ward 12 is for elective orthopaedic surgery. There is also a dedicated Orthopaedic and Fracture Clinic with embedded physiotherapy facilities and plaster room. Supporting the orthopaedic service is a well-equipped radiology department too.
