Main duties of the job

We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Registered Mental Health Nurse, with excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, who can motivate, influence and inspire colleagues at all levels, enabling the ward to provide high quality care for older people requiring acute admission. You will be accountable for the management of the ward, ensuring a safe and effective environment for services users, staff and carers. You will work closely with the Inpatient Team in delivering care to patients with complex needs, as well as supporting the Ward Team through supervision and appraisal processes to deliver recovery-focused care. Manannan Court is a purpose built unit consisting of two wards. The Harbour Suite (14 beds) is for adults of working age and the Glen Suite (12 beds) is for older adults. You will be proactive and innovative, whilst being a visible and approachable leadership presence on the ward. You will be able to respond to competing demands within an acute mental health admission setting.
