Job responsibilities
About the role and our team
Join our team as an Air Ambulance Transfer Practitioner with Manx Care on the Isle of Man!
The Air Ambulance service is responsible for the transfer of patients to or from the United Kingdom which includes transfer by air ambulance (fixed wing and rotary), schedule flight, boat and road transfers.
You will support the Manx Care’s strategy for on and off Island treatment of patients through partnership working predominantly within the North West of England, and always maintaining a close involvement with key stakeholders.
You will be part of our small, supportive team working closely with medical consultants, general managers and clinical teams in relation to the planning and delivery of patient care during off Island Air Ambulance transfers.
You will usually spend your days flying as an Air Ambulance Transfer Practitioner, assessing patients that are going to be transferred to the UK, working with doctors, consultants and the public at Noble’s Hospital. You will also have the opportunity, in the absence of the Lead and Deputy Co-ordinator, to maintain the Air Ambulance Service eg inpatient assessment, outpatient assessments for patient transfers, team management and equipment provision.
On days where you are not transferring patients it is expected for you to work on any ward in Noble’s hospital, help keep guidelines and service operational policies up to date or take on administration projects within the Air Ambulance team.
We are looking for a job-share arrangement for this post, although full-time will also be considered. If this role sounds interesting to you, we would love to hear from you!
