Main duties of the job

Within this role, youll use your knowledge and skills in general radiography to produce diagnostic images for all referring Departments to aid patient care, such as General Practitioners, Hospital Consultants, Emergency Department Doctors and more. Youll evaluate images and make clinical judgments to determine when further images or imaging techniques are required, covering a range of examinations including theatre radiography, dental and mobile imaging and fluoroscopy. Youll also participate in our on-call system, performing CT head examinations, using our very attractive on-call system (on-site and from home) that provides competitive remuneration and WTD compliant rest time. As well as PACS, our Department has two digital general rooms and an overhead tube in the ED trauma room in addition to two multi-slice Spectral CT scanners, two digital mammography units, a digital dental room, four ultrasound units, a newly upgraded DXA scanner and a digital angiography/screening room. We also have a 1.5T and 3T MRI scanner, further supported by three digital mobile units and two image intensifiers for theatre and mobile work. In addition, there is a satellite unit in the north of the island, where youll work single-handedly in a newly refurbished digital room with whole spine/leg length stitching capability with a digital dental unit providing imaging to GP, the Minor Injuries Unit and Outpatient Services.
