About the role and our team
We are looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic Counsellor to join our Counselling and Therapy service in primary care!
We deliver a range of therapeutic counselling interventions for people experiencing mild to moderately severe mental health problems, such as anxiety, depression and trauma.
Your experience and ideas will be key in developing the support and intervention we provide. Together we will design, deliver and evaluate the developing service based in the heart of the community. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of something special and make a difference to those in the community.
You will initially be based in Port Erin or Douglas, but we also deliver interventions in our Ramsey and Peel hubs.
Your high level of clinical skills and ability to utilise specialist therapeutic techniques and counselling approaches will ensure clients receive the services they need. What can this role offer me?
By joining us you’ll be stepping away from NHS pressures and demands, as the Island’s healthcare system is similar but separate to the UK NHS.
Developing our team to be the best they can be is important to us, you’ll have access to all the great courses the Isle of Man Government offer, through LEaD, our Learning, Education and Development Service.
As a Band 6 or 7 (depending on experience and skills) Counsellor you will receive support and supervision alongside continued professional development and study leave.
We offer competitive salaries which tend to be higher than UK salaries with opportunities for annual pay increases for many roles.
You will enjoy generous annual leave entitlement of 27 days and 10 public holidays
For candidates not on the Isle of Man we will reimburse your interview expenses and give you a relocation package of up to £7,000 to get you, your things and your family to the island.
For those relocating or returning to the island you will receive a refund on your national insurance contributions made in your first year, this could be up to £4,000!
