Job summary
Are you a Registered Midwife who wants to be able to provide real continuity of care, from Antenatal through delivery and post-natal, in a team that is central to the Isle of Man community? Do you want to achieve your ambitions, as well as enjoy a quality lifestyle and work-life balance, then take a look at what a career with us could offer you! Our terms and conditions are not Agenda for Change; however our pay bands equate to the UK NHS bands and have advantageous pay scales.
Main duties of the job
When you join our friendly and supportive Midwifery Team, Hospital and Community Midwifery form part of one service, which means you will be able to work across all areas rather than being limited to just one aspect of midwifery care. You will work in a fantastic modern 17-bed facility which includes four birthing rooms, two birthing pools, a dedicated maternity theatre, anaesthetic room and state of the art neo-natal suite. We also have a bereavement suite. You will be required to provide the necessary supervision care and advice to women during pregnancy, labour and the post partum period, to conduct deliveries under their own responsibility and care for the newborn in the hospital or within the community. This role grants the opportunity to provide excellent parent education services. We offer a large portfolio of various courses which include dedicated courses for first time and second time parents and 1:1 bespoke sessions for women with additional needs. The Midwifery Team works alongside and joins up with many other excellent health services within Manx Care, including the Perinatal Mental Health Service and Diabetes Service, where joint clinics are run with staff from both services and a Midwife. If this sounds like a role youd be interested in, we would love to hear from you!
