Job summary

Within this role, you will provide experienced and professional leadership to the theatre team and be responsible for the effective first line management of practitioners, ensuring they are adequately trained, educated and skilled, and that all professional practice is in accordance with the appropriate codes of practice. Main duties of the job
1. Ensure that all practice and professional activity meets with NMC and HCPC codes of Conduct 2. Through effective clinical leadership be able to inspire, motivate and empower others 3. Act as a positive role model with regards to attitude, conduct and presentation. 4. Be responsible for the assessment of perioperative care needs and the development, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care for patients to ensure delivery of a high dtandard of care on every shift 5. In the absence of the Operating Department Manager assume responsibility for the management of daily operational responsibilities in the department, including work allocation, deployment and supervision of staff to ensure the smooth running of the area 6. In conjunction with Operating Department Manager and Theatre Education Lead set, monitor and evaluate standards of care within defined policies, procedures, standards and protocols to ensure adherence to and delivery of a high quality service
