Job summary

Join us as a Senior Occupational Therapist in Orthopaedics and Surgery within Manx Care! In this role, you will be joining our small friendly team and working closely alongside other members of the Multi-disciplinary team including physiotherapist and social workers. You will be assessing, therapy planning, goal setting and discharge planning across a diverse patient group at Nobles Hospital.

Main duties of the job

Areas covered are surgical, orthopaedic, trauma, Pre-operative and pre-discharge home assessments form a significant component of the service. The post holder will have responsibility to be the link/lead O.T. across Orthopaedic and Surgical areas for those patients with dementia/mental health issues or concerns regarding their mental health cognition. The post holder will provide this service in line with the professional and organisational standards expected. To independently plan, prioritise and manage a caseload which will include complex cases e.g. double amputees, obese clients evidencing high level problems solving, reasoning skills and judgements.

About the role and our team

Join us as a Senior Occupational Therapist in Orthopaedics and Surgery within Manx Care!

In this role, you will be joining our small friendly team and working closely alongside other members of the Multi-disciplinary team including physiotherapist and social workers. You will be assessing, therapy planning, goal setting and discharge planning across a diverse patient group at Nobles Hospital.

You will have a varied caseload of elective orthopaedics, trauma and general surgery including amputees from pre-admission to inpatient to short term follow up post hospital discharge. You will also be liaising with our major trauma centre regarding transfer and repatriation of major trauma patients.

You will also have the opportunity to work collaboratively with OT colleagues across a range of specialties including Community, Mental Health and Older Persons Mental Health services.
